Plot
A family moves into a new housing estate hoping for a fresh start and a quieter life.
At first, everything seems fine. The neighbourhood looks peaceful, the houses are new, and it feels like they’ve finally found somewhere to settle down.
But it doesn’t take long before strange things start happening around the estate, where the neighbors seem uneasy, unexplained incidents become more frequent, and the family begins to realize there’s a reason people are afraid of living there.
What was supposed to be their dream home slowly turns into a place they can’t seem to escape.

Style and Presentation
Like the original Thai film, this is a haunted neighbourhood story where the horror grows out of everyday family life rather than constant scares.
Most of the tension comes from the estate itself, and it’s as much about the pressure on the family as it is about the supernatural events happening around them, which gives it a slower, more emotional feel than a typical haunted house film.
Cultural Context
Perumahan Laddaland is an Indonesian remake of the 2011 Thai horror film Ladda Land, one of Thailand’s best-known modern horror movies, and rather than simply copying the original, the remake brings the story into an Indonesian setting while keeping the central idea of a family trapped in a neighbourhood with a dark reputation.
Haunted housing estates have become a familiar setting in Southeast Asian horror because they mix something ordinary with the supernatural. Instead of isolated mansions or abandoned buildings, the fear comes from living somewhere that should feel safe but slowly becomes impossible to call home.
