Plot

Project Sacrifice follows Yuda, a man who has never believed the rumours surrounding the massive construction project where his father died under mysterious circumstances years earlier, but after becoming determined to uncover the truth behind what really happened, he infiltrates the company alongside members of his family to investigate the secrets hidden behind the development.

At first, Yuda believes the strange stories surrounding the project are simply rumours created by fear and speculation, but things quickly begin changing when construction workers start disappearing without explanation and a series of terrifying supernatural events begin spreading throughout the unfinished site.

The deeper Yuda investigates, the more he discovers that the success of the project is connected to something far darker than corruption or hidden mistakes – the missing workers are not simply accidents, but part of a horrifying ritual where human sacrifices are being used to ensure the construction continues without failure.

As Yuda uncovers the truth behind the project, he finds himself facing black magic, ancient rituals and people willing to do anything to protect their success and profit – with his own family now at risk, Yuda must find a way to stop the sacrifices before they become the next offerings.

Cast & Production

Project Sacrifice, originally titled Tumbal Proyek, is an Indonesian supernatural horror thriller directed by JeroPoint, with JeroPoint, Sandika Gusti and Shinta Puji credited as writers – the film stars Kiesha Alvaro, Callista Arum, Karina Suwandi, Eduward Manalu, Rayn Wijaya and Ruth Marini, is produced by Dee Company, features Dolby Surround 7.1 audio, and released in Indonesia on 13 May 2026.

Style and Presentation

Project Sacrifice takes the idea of Indonesian horror urban legends and places it inside a large construction project, creating a horror setting that feels different from the more familiar haunted houses and isolated locations often seen in supernatural films – instead, the fear comes from a place that is supposed to represent progress and development hiding something much darker underneath.

The mystery surrounding the project becomes the main focus of the story, as Yuda slowly uncovers that the disappearances happening around the site are connected to a much older belief involving ritual sacrifice and black magic.

The construction setting also gives the film a different type of atmosphere, because the unfinished buildings, empty areas and constant activity around the project create a place where something disturbing can remain hidden in plain sight – Project Sacrifice builds its horror around the investigation itself, with the characters trying to understand whether the rumours are true before they become part of the same dark tradition they are trying to expose.

Cultural Context

The idea of “tumbal proyek”, meaning human sacrifices made to ensure the success or safety of major construction projects, has existed as one of Indonesia’s most persistent urban legends for decades.

Project Sacrifice takes that familiar belief and transforms it into a supernatural horror story, using the idea that modern developments can still be connected to older traditions and fears that people have never completely left behind, creating a story about how old superstitions can continue existing even in places that appear to represent the future.

Indonesian horror has often explored the connection between everyday life and supernatural beliefs, where ordinary locations can become connected to hidden forces, and Project Sacrifice follows that tradition by turning a common urban legend into the centre of its mystery.

Why You Should Watch

Project Sacrifice is for fans of Indonesian supernatural horror who enjoy stories built around mystery, black magic and folklore-inspired ideas, with the construction site setting giving the film a different type of location compared with more traditional horror environments.

The combination of missing workers, secret rituals and an investigation into a hidden conspiracy gives the film a setup that mixes supernatural horror with mystery, as Yuda is not only trying to survive the events around him but also uncover the truth behind his father’s death.

The idea of tumbal proyek has been part of Indonesian folklore for years, and seeing that legend turned into a full supernatural thriller gives Project Sacrifice a story built around a fear that is already familiar to many viewers – a horror film where the search for progress and success comes with a much darker price.
