Another week, another batch of Asian horror trailers, and Indonesia is once again responsible for a ridiculous amount of the interesting stuff, so here’s what has turned up this week that I could find – a Thai horror remake getting an Indonesian makeover, haunted theatres, snake goddesses, corpses being delivered to people’s houses and whatever the hell is going on with Memburu Pemangsa.
Memburu Pemangsa
The full trailer for Memburu Pemangsa released this week, a film about four female journalists investigating a child predator, but the further they get into the investigation, the more obvious it becomes that they’re dealing with something considerably worse.
It’s scheduled to hit Indonesian cinemas on September 24, 2026.
The Hole, 309 Days to the Bloodiest Tragedy – (Lobang Buaya)
Hanung Bramantyo’s Lobang Buaya (It seems to have a few different names) takes Indonesian history and turns one of the country’s most traumatic periods into the backdrop for a supernatural horror story, and another trailer has been released, with the film scheduled for a October 1, 2026 release in Indonesia.
Warga Rusun 609
Warga Rusun 609 is an Indonesian horror comedy that is an adaptation/reworking of the Thai horror comedy Buppah Rahtree, taking the basic supernatural setup and relocating it into an Indonesian rusun environment, scheduled for a October 1 release date.
Bóng Ma Nhà Hát
Bóng Ma Nhà Hát, or Miss Phantom, is a new Vietnamese supernatural horror-comedy film built around a mysterious urban legend concerning a spiritual presence inside an old theatre, and follows Tuấn, who is given the job of reviving the struggling theatre, only to discover that the building has a much more complicated history than he expected.
The film was developed by CGV and 11 Film and is currently scheduled for September 18, and it not to be confused with a Chinese film released in 2016 with the same name.
Dewi Siluman Ular
Yes, this is the Snake Goddess movie – titled Dewi Siluman Ular in Indonesia, the supernatural horror thriller follows Dedi, a man drowning in debt who sees marriage to a mysterious beautiful woman as a way out of his financial problems, and naturally, this being an Indonesian horror movie called Snake Goddess, things don’t remain quite that simple.
It’s scheduled for Indonesian cinemas on November 12, 2026.
Pirunduk
Pirunduk heads into Indonesian folklore for its supernatural story about revenge, forbidden magic and a spirit that refuses to simply stay dead, with the story following a wronged woman whose suffering eventually leads into dark supernatural territory, and is scheduled for release on October 22.
Instead Service / ដឹកសពចូលផ្ទះ
Cambodia has Instead Service, a horror/thriller with a wonderfully grim premise, which revolves around people willing to do all kinds of jobs for money, including mysterious delivery services where nobody seems particularly concerned about what exactly they’re being asked to transport – even when that happens to be a corpse.
The Cambodian title is ដឹកសពចូលផ្ទះ, and the film is scheduled to open nationwide in Cambodia on September 10, 2026.
My Death Wife / រឿងកាច់កប្រពន្ធចុង
Another Cambodian horror title to keep an eye on is My Death Wife, or រឿងកាច់កប្រពន្ធចុង, but there’s considerably less information circulating in English about this one – the official teaser gives us the film’s supernatural-horror direction without giving away too much of the story, and it’s currently listed for a September 17, 2026 Cambodian release.
Conjurig
Conjurig might have the strangest real-world inspiration of the Indonesian bunch, because this horror comedy is inspired by the ghost cosplayers found around Bandung, where people dress as supernatural characters in popular tourist areas and make money from photographs and interactions with visitorsm and even the title has a local connection – it comes from the word jurig, meaning ghost in Sundanese, combined with the idea of a community.
It’s scheduled to arrive on on October 1.
