Another week, another batch of Asian horror trailers, including new teasers, and there are some particularly good ones this time around…..
Indonesia has a couple of very different supernatural horrors, Vietnam has two films going in completely different directions, Cambodia gives us another local horror, and Japan has come up with both a cursed smartphone and a horror movie about capsule toy machines.

Bóng Ma Nhà Hát
The teaser for Bóng Ma Nhà Hát was one of last week’s finds, but this week brings the full official trailer, giving us more of the story, centring on an old theatre where strange things have been happening, with Quỳnh Lý playing Tuấn, a man who gets involved in trying to bring the struggling venue back to life, but unfortunately, the theatre already has a resident of the supernatural variety – the ghost of an actress named Sở Lam, and is scheduled to open in Vietnam on September 18, 2026.
Huyết Thống / Bloodline
Vietnamese supernatural horror Huyết Thống has a new teaser that digs into a story involving karma, spirits, family secrets and an ancient debt that has remained buried for 12 years – Quang Tuấn and Quách Ngọc Ngoan appear to be on opposite sides of the film’s central conflict, while Lan Phương plays a mother whose daughter becomes caught up in a series of disturbing supernatural events, and the film is scheduled for October 30, 2026.
Disturbed
Produced by Sastra Film, Disturbed is a Cambodian supernatural horror story involving a young woman and disturbing forces that begin taking over her life – Disturbed is scheduled to open in Cambodian cinemas on September 24, 2026.
Lingsir Wengi: Motel Malioboro
Lingsir Wengi: Motel Malioboro follows Putik, a woman with the ability to communicate with unseen entities, who becomes involved with a horror YouTube channel, where the group eventually heads to an old motel in Malioboro looking for material that will boost their views, but they of course find rather more than they were expecting, because the motel contains a forbidden room connected to a mysterious death.
It’s scheduled for October 22, 2026.
Hungry Ghost Festival / Festival Hantu Lapar
This is one of the more culturally interesting Indonesian horror releases in the current batch – horror-comedy Hungry Ghost Festival takes its inspiration from the traditions and beliefs surrounding the Hungry Ghost Festival.
It’s due in Indonesian cinemas on November 26, 2026.
The Doll Ghawiah
The Doll Ghawiah is the latest entry in Indonesia’s long-running obsession with possessed dolls, although this one has a very specific local connection – the story begins with an accident on Babakan Siliwangi Road, where Nala encounters a mysterious young girl and her doll. Things obviously don’t remain at the level of a strange encounter, and the doll becomes connected to a much more disturbing supernatural presence.
The full trailer follows the earlier teaser material and is part of this week’s promotional push for the film, which is scheduled for October 29, 2026.
Gacha – Kai Sekai (ガチャ 廻世界)
Japan has come up with one of the strangest concepts of the week.
Gacha – Sekaikai is a new Japanese horror film built around capsule toy machines, and the teaser shows people becoming trapped inside capsules and plays with the idea of whether somebody’s life can effectively become a “winning prize.”
It it set for a February 2027 release.
The Cursed Smartphone / 呪いのスマホ
This one has a very modern cursed-object setup.
The Cursed Smartphone follows high-school students who discover a strange smartphone connected to an abandoned building. Things get particularly nasty when disturbing videos begin appearing on the device – including AI-generated footage depicting the students’ own deaths.
The film opens throughout Japan on November 13, 2026.
