Set in 1950s rural Malaysia, Melor is forced to take on a family inheritance after the death of her mother.
But what she inherits isn’t just property or belongings – it’s something far more dangerous.
A saka (a spiritual entity tied to the family line) begins to surface in her life, slowly affecting her home, her body, and the people around her, and over time, it becomes clear the presence attached to her family is still active – and it doesn’t want to let go.
As Melor struggles to protect her children and hold her life together, she’s forced into a situation where resisting the inheritance might cost her everything.

Style and Presentation
This is a slow-burn psychological horror grounded in Malay folklore, especially the concept of saka -a hereditary spiritual entity passed through generations.
Rather than focusing on jump scares, the film builds tension through emotional breakdown, family pressure, and the gradual loss of control over everyday life.
The horror stays quiet at first, then becomes harder to ignore as the entity begins to feel less like superstition and more like something actively present in the household.
Cultural Context
In Malay folklore, a saka is a spiritual inheritance passed down through family lines, often tied to protection rituals that come with a long-term cost.
Khadam uses this belief system as its foundation, showing how spiritual inheritance can feel both like a burden and something inescapable.
It reflects a wider trend in Malaysian horror where family responsibility, tradition, and spiritual consequence are tightly connected.
