Bhooth Bangla

Plot

A wealthy businessman purchases an old, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of town, planning to restore it and turn it into a profitable property.

But once the work begins, the workers start behaving strangely. Some refuse to enter certain parts of the house, and small incidents start piling up around the property.

The owner ignores the warnings and pushes the project forward anyway.

Soon after, it becomes clear the mansion isn’t just abandoned – it reacts to being disturbed, and not everyone involved is ready for what that really means.

Style and Presentation

This is a horror-comedy built around a traditional haunted mansion setup, mixing supernatural elements with character-driven humour.

The tone moves between comedy and horror, often switching quickly depending on the situation inside the house.

Even with the lighter moments, the mansion remains the central focus, with a growing sense that it doesn’t want to be disturbed.

Cultural Context

Indian horror-comedy often blends superstition, folklore, and exaggerated reactions to balance scares with entertainment.

Haunted house stories like this are a familiar part of the genre, where old properties are believed to hold lingering spiritual presence tied to past events.

This film continues that tradition, using humour to balance tension while keeping the supernatural core intact.
