Plot
Juminten Edan follows Juminten, a mute woman who returns to her childhood island after eight years away, travelling with her husband Manto and their young daughter Saskia as they attempt to rebuild their broken family and start a new life.
After arriving on the isolated island, Juminten begins showing increasingly disturbing changes in her behaviour, with violent outbursts and strange actions causing those around her to question whether she is suffering from the trauma of her past or something far more supernatural.
As fear spreads through the community, Juminten becomes trapped between accusations of madness and signs of a possible mystical possession – unable to speak and explain what is happening to her, she must rely on those closest to her to uncover the truth behind the darkness surrounding her.
The deeper Manto investigates Juminten’s condition, the more he discovers that her return to the island has awakened forgotten secrets connected to her past – and what appears to be a personal family tragedy may actually be linked to a much older supernatural force waiting to reveal itself.
