Warga Rusun 609, also known as Residents of Apartment 609, puts a dead woman, a broken promise and a threatened community together inside the same rusun, with Ranty Maria, Morgan Oey, Gita Bhebhita and Dustin Tiffani among the cast.
The film is directed by Herwin Novianto, written by Upi, and is scheduled to open in Indonesian cinemas on October 1 , 2026.
Bunga Has One Last Thing to Collect
The mess here begins with Arka (Morgan Oey), a popular, wealthy student whose relationship with Bunga (Ranty Maria) falls apart after a stupid bet. Bunga subsequently dies, and her death leaves behind an unfinished promise between the two, and her spirit then appears in Room 609, refusing to leave until Arka keeps his final promise.
That would be bad enough for whoever lives in 609, but Bunga’s presence quickly becomes a problem for the wider apartment community as the residents are thrown into panic, and at exactly the wrong time, they are also facing Pak Bahlil (David Nurbianto), a developer attempting to relocate the residents, so while the ghost is demanding something from Arka, the people downstairs are trying to stop themselves from being removed from their homes.
Bu Damai (Gita Bhebhita) becomes one of the residents trying to organise everyone, and the community decides that the best solution is to keep the haunting quiet while finding somebody capable of dealing with Bunga, which brings Dustin Tiffani into the chaos as the dukun / orang pintar brought in to help get rid of the spirit.

Herwin Novianto, Upi and a Very Busy Cast
Warga Rusun 609 is directed by Herwin Novianto, with Upi Avianto handling the screenplay, and Gope T. Samtani is credited as producer, while the production is a collaboration between Rapi Film, Sky Media, Legacy Pictures and Vortera Studios.
The cast includes Morgan Oey as Arka, Ranty Maria as Bunga, Gita Bhebhita Butar-Butar as Bu Damai, David Nurbianto as Pak Bahlil and Dustin Tiffani, with Aming, Sarah Sechan, Dimas Danang, Indy Barends, Adzana Ashel, Keanu, Yono Bakrie, Riyuka Bunga, Danang Galabby and Papham also announced among the cast.
A Horror-Comedy Built Around Community
The casting is probably one of the clearest indications of where Warga Rusun 609 is heading, as alongside established screen actors such as Morgan Oey and Ranty Maria, the film brings together a sizeable group of Indonesian comedy performers, including Gita Bhebhita, Aming, Dustin Tiffani, Dimas Danang and Indy Barends.
And with Upi writing and Herwin Novianto directing, the film has two filmmakers with established Indonesian cinema careers behind what looks like a deliberately broad mixture of supernatural comedy and everyday community conflict – the ghost may have moved into Room 609, but judging from the setup, Bunga isn’t going to be the only thing making life difficult for these residents.
