Sekawan Limo 2: Gunung Klawih (Five Friends 2: Mount Klawih) (2026)

Plot

Three years after their first dangerous mountain expedition, five friends reunite for what is meant to be a simple celebration.

The gathering takes place during a family birthday, but the mood quickly changes when they discover that Andrew’s family is being targeted by a dark ritual tied to pesugihan (a wealth-related black magic practice).

When the threat escalates, the group decides to travel together to Mount Klawih in an attempt to stop what is happening and protect Andrew’s family.

But once they reach the mountain, things quickly spiral out of control.

During the journey, one of the group members, Juna, disappears after being pulled into a supernatural realm connected to the mountain’s curse.

As they search for him and try to complete their mission, they begin to realize the mountain is not just a location – it behaves like a boundary between the human world and something far more dangerous.

Style and Presentation

This is a comedy-horror adventure that blends supernatural folklore with friendship-driven storytelling.

The film shifts between light humour and darker horror elements, especially once the group enters Mount Klawih and the supernatural rules of the location begin to take effect.

Rather than staying grounded in a single tone, it mixes genres – moving between adventure, ritual horror, and surreal supernatural sequences as the journey progresses.

Cultural Context

Indonesian horror frequently incorporates pesugihan folklore, where wealth gained through supernatural means comes with a deadly cost.

This film builds on that tradition while also continuing the story from the first Sekawan Limo movie, expanding it into a larger supernatural world tied to the mountain.

It also reflects a popular Indonesian trend of mixing comedy with horror, making supernatural themes more accessible while still keeping traditional spiritual beliefs at the centre of the story.

Notes

  • Sequel to Sekawan Limo (2024)
  • Mountain-based pesugihan / black magic storyline
  • Mix of comedy, adventure, and horror
  • Supernatural disappearance subplot (Juna)

  • Indonesian release: 27 May 2026
